As per instructions in the roommate's User's guide and Reference manual, Roommate 2.0 can be easily de-installed...unless he is a Windoze NT user. In such an event, a massive crane, 3 large foul-mouthed Irishmen, and a flatbed truck are necessary. Tech support costs $115/hour during de-installation.
After de-installation, there will a huge amount of free space, albeit fragmented space. Unfortunately, there will also be a dirth of critical system resources such as CumfyCouch 1.0, CoolRug 1.0, and DatingAdvisor 4u. On the bright side, you will note that the system now closes interface ports such as windows and doors; wasted system power will also be reduced. The system will not core dump when a background process plays piano music.
Contention for single-user mode of the system will no longer be a problem.
